Hi everyone, Water is running @ 185 cfs…. First King Salmon of the season brought in to Salmon river sports shop caught behind the store. Reports of fish hooked on the big wall, in the ballpark and Black hole. Not a big run by any means. Mostly locals fishing and spotting a few here or there. We are encouraging locals and fishermen not to far away to come out and see if they spot or hook one. Real good reports from the lake!!!! Still early tho and we have a few more hot days ahead. We are busy getting ready and hope to have a good year. Call 315 298 4343 for more info… Happy fishing srss j. button

I can say the pond has been resilient!! 8 to10 inches of ice with a lot of slush. Fishermen are picking up were we left off with a very good bite. Weather is going to warm over the weekend should make for some good catches. Perch is one species the Pond and other fisheries are producing numbers. Perch are feeding heavy on go beys. We grade down our minnows to get a little closer to the 2 inch size. Bigger male fatheads, small shiners and even small suckers around three inches can produce bigger Perch. The male fathead with a purple hue works the best. We grade down are shiners we call sixes that are 2 to 2.5 inches in a six grade. These minnows open up the door for Walleye, Bass and Perch. There flash helps attract fish and keeps smaller fish off. Mainly these baits are ran under tip downs. Spawning spring season is just around the corner and we are starting to stock supplies. We love those weeks when every thing seems to be hitting. Stop in and let us know how your doing! Spring hours will be 5am to 9pm 7 days a week. Happy fishing!! srss j button

Hi everyone, The big question on everyone’s mind is the ice going to make it threw this warm up? So far so good!! Fisherman were out today on 6 inches of ice and reported back slushy but still ok. Cool tonight should help in to tomorrow. Wednesday is the day we have our eye on. We will keep you posted if anything changes. Steelhead fishing has picked up in the river great time to take advantage of these thaws. Days are getting longer and we are creeping closer to spawn. Happy fishing!! srss j button

We still have plenty of ice around here and we have seen some perch come in off of sandy pond. Fathead minnow and a jig has been working well when they are biting. Oneida lake the bluegill bite has been steady again just have to move around to find them. I was fishing 10 foot of water last week and were getting crappie and bluegill. We wer using rocker jigs tipped with spikes. We used white or green jigs. The crappie bite on sandy pond has been hit or miss again we had a few good nights then it slowed down again. For the crappie on the pond we were using glow jigs tipped with spikes. We are currently taking orders for spring fishing tackle jigs, rods, reels. feel free to call us at the shop 315-298-4343

*****WE HAVE BUCKEYES*****
For those of you looking to get into the last stretch of Walleye get in here while they last. we twisted our bait guy’s arm and he managed to kick up a couple pounds of buckeyes for us but he said this is it. We’re the only ones around who have them so get here before they’re gone.

And for those of you looking to get your last day of Northern Pike fishing in we still have Pike Minnows and Suckers so get your fishing in while you can.

We did have a typo on our tickets ad some of our posts about the derby times. The derby still starts at 5am Saturday morning but it ends at 3pm Sunday. Again, 3pm Sunday, March 1st is the ending time of our Toothy Critter Derby.

In anticipation of all the Pike derbies this weekend, we have made sure we are fully stocked with all sizes of suckers and pike minnows, as well as all varieties of smaller bait, so make sure you stop in and see us first. Our fish last and we still have the lowest prices around. We’re open until 9pm tonight and open bright and early at 4am on Saturday.

We are having our toothy critter derby again this year. Hope to see you there

Well we are on the ice in spots. Most of the ice is still forming around here but we are on here is a few spots that we know have safe ice

Big Bay Oneida lake 3-5 inch

Greenpoint Not safe yet

Lakeview 4-5 inch

Chaumont bay Lots of safe ice for walking or snowmobiling on the eastern half of the bay.  Reports of 6 inches plus.  A large area of jam ice with drifters underneath along Pt Salubrious out to johnsons shoal.  Ice is great at the boat launch..just watch the shoreline.  Guys are always telling me they didnt go out because the edge was slushy…well its almost always gonna be when the wind blows everyday.  If the ramp is flooded, go left by the willow trees…its flat rock there and only a foot deep as opposed to the boat ramp has a deep hole underneath. No reports of anyone finding fish yesterday

Oneida lake some guys have been out but give it a few more days

Black lake 4-8 depending on where you go
