Hello everyone!
A quick river report and then on to ice fishing! The Salmon River is currently running at 2200 cfs. With such high flow and breaking up of the shelf ice, the river isn’t really fishable right now. Water flow is shown to remain at 2200 cfs at least until midnight tomorrow. Hopefully in the next few days it will be going down to safer levels. Ice fishing this week however has been great. I have had lots of reports of great fishing off of the pond and areas to the north. Remember that you should always practice safety when on the ice and always have the appropriate safety gear with you, you never know what is gonna happen. Stop in and pick up any safety gear you might be missing, we just got in new shipments of ice picks, safety sets, and safety treads. The winter classic is running hot and heavy, and boy is it heavy! The leading fish in the state right now is a whopping 19.26 lb Northern Pike! With about a month and a half left, who knows what we will see! Our inner board is going strong with several entries! If you are on our inner board, bring in those fish! It’s also not too late to sign up for the winter classic and our inner board. Stop and sign up today! If you didn’t know, one day passes for the winter classic are available, just remember that you have to purchase one before you bring in that monster fish! Stop by the store for more details. We have pop ups, augers, rods, reels, and other accessories all in stock! We have plenty of bait as well! As always, stay safe and warm out there!
