On Sunday the mild weather continued with sunshine in the morning and cloudy conditions in the afternoon. The temperature reached near 70 degrees and it was another windy day so leaves were a factor. With the nice weather and holiday weekend it’s no surprise with the increase in fishing pressure. We got mixed reports from anglers who fished the DSR, some groups got into a few fish, while others had a slow day. As of right now we have salmon spawning in the gravel areas of the river which are mostly in the mid to upper section, but anglers have reported salmon spawning in the lower end of the river as well. Each day a few more steelhead show up and are feeding on the salmon eggs with egg patterns, estaz and egg sucking leeches producing steady results.
