If you don’t want to travel far for good Walleye then Oneida is the only place you need to go. Since the ice was decent enough to get a machine out on the lake we’ve been hearing good reports of Walleye being caught from numerous places. Coming out of Godfrey, Constantia, Jewell, or pretty much any area of the lake has been doing great if you find the right depth. Oneida Lake Walleye are probably my favorite just because I think they taste better than some of those ten pounders you can get up North. Not that those aren’t fun to catch and obviously good to brag about, but if you’re going to be filling your freezer, Oneida Lake is as far as you need to go.
