Fishing on the lower end of the river has slowed down over the past few days as far as numbers of kings, though they are still here. We are starting to see bigger and bigger numbers of trout being pulled out between the ballpark and the staircase. Most of the kings have moved up the river into Altmar, Pineville, and the north and south Sandy’s. The kings that have made it that far are a darker color and easier to land because they don’t have as much life left in them, so if you go there make sure they are in decent shape if you are thinking of eating them. It has been very warm and sunny out which is making the fish line shy so if you are having trouble hooking up try dropping down to a smaller leader. If you have any questions or need help setting up stop in and we’ll help you hook into them. Get here to fish before they all move out.
